Furious with his brother Matt for letting him take the blame for something that wasn’t his fault, Josh steals Matt’s dream by hiding in Uncle Harry’s wagon loaded with supplies for Fort Cumberland—where colonists and redcoats are assembling to fight the French. Although Josh and his family are fictional, every detail of unfolding events having to do with General Braddock’s botched campaign and its tragic consequences was taken from the journals of redcoats who were there. Josh ran away from home an irresponsible youth. He returns a young man seasoned by the atrocities of war.

I read your lively historical novel in northern Michigan last week while on vacation with family. I enjoyed it greatly. Teenagers will surely find this engaging.

I finally had time to read your manuscript Seeds of Rebellion. It is a real page turner—action packed and interesting history all the way. The book should be read by all middle schoolers and high school students. Well done!

Seeds of Rebellion edition by Teresa Irvin Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
Even though I doubt I was part of the "Target Audience" (I am nearly 65 years old.) I really enjoyed reading Seeds of Rebellion by Teresa Irvin.
This historical fiction included numerous action and adventure seuqences of a 14 year old boy witnessing the French and Indian War after he runs away from home. Included are encounters with Daniel Boone and Captain George Washington as well as witnessing historical battles and Indian encounters.
Most of all I enjoyed the relationships the author developes between young Josh and his family members as well as a touch of romance with a young girl.
The Seeds of Rebellion is a beautifully written historical novel, which brings to life an important period in early American history. While the key characters are fictional, the historical events are not. The French and Indian war, which occurred in the mid eighteenth century, put in place the dynamics which would set the foundation for the American Revolution 20 years later. The story of a young man who runs away from home and finds himself in the middle of a significant historical event, also presents a well researched description of what it is like to live in 1755.
This is a wonderful way for early teens to learn about an important part of our American history. My daughter is a history buff and loved this!
